Most
of the time, acne is known to afflict teenagers and young women. However, it
can also affect adult men. In other words, nobody is safe. While acne lesions
only take a few days to heal, the scars that come about after they are healed
can remain for a very long time. Thus, many look for ways on how to remove acne
scars.
If
your acne tends to be mild most of the time, then you have probably only
experienced superficial scars so far. Fortunately, there are a lot of
affordable treatments out there to remove those scars. However, if you tend to
experience severe acne and deep scars, then you might be worried that the only
solution left for you is surgery. This isn't necessarily the case, though.
Believe it or not, you can turn to something as simple as honey and lemon juice
for acne scar removal.
Lemon,
on the other hand, is very well known for its acidic traits. The acid found in
lemon doesn't just detoxify the body, though; it also exfoliates the skin's
outer layers. This means that it can actually give the skin under your scars a
chance to grow flawlessly afterwards. So, when the new skin replaces the old
scarred skin, it will give way to much healthier skin - and without any scars
to boot!
You
can either apply lemon juice topically or take it orally. When taken orally,
you should slice up a lemon and squeeze all of its juice into a glass full of
water. If you want, you can bring honey into the picture once again and add it
into the juice.
To
apply it topically, wash the affected areas with water, get some cotton and
apply the juice onto those areas. Some people come to find that lemon has a
stinging sensation on their skin, though. So, if you have very sensitive skin,
you might want to avoid using lemon juice topically and use honey instead.
Conversely, you can try diluting the juice a little bit more or just add some
honey into it to diminish the stinging effect.
What
makes lemon juice a bit better than honey, though, would be the fact that it
can also improve your overall skin tone and prevent more acne attacks in the
future. Besides, regular consumption of lemon juice can detoxify your body and
improve your digestion, as well.
While
it is true that using honey and lemon juice for acne scar removal may take some
time, especially if your acne scars are very deep, it will help you save a lot
of money. Plus, since these remedies are completely natural, you won't have to
worry about any unwanted side effects, either.
